How to make Peas pulao using Basmati Rice




Peas Pulao is one of the most important dishes that are made at special occasions in the houses that are vegetarian.

It forms one of the dishes that should always be there when the occasion is the happiest one.

As the name suggests, the main ingredient in this is Indian Basmatirice and peas.

It is made by adding some green peas while steaming the rice and it’s done!

There are many recipes on the net which shows how to make Peas pulao, but here we will use Basmati rice for the above recipe.

The preparation time is around 15 to 30 minutes and the main ingredients are Basmati rice and Peas.

Ingredients for Peas Pulao:

1 cup Basmati Rice
1 cup Green Peas
1 onion, chopped and sliced
1/2 tblspn ginger garlic paste
1 small piece of Cinnamon
2 Cloves
1 Green Chilli, finely chopped
1/2 tblspn Oil
1/2 tblspn Ghee
1 cup Water
Salt to taste and as required

Method to make Green Peas Pulao

In the start, the rice should be washed in water for 2 times, than soaked for 30 minutes and then excess water should be drained out and the rice should be kept aside.

In a pan, heat the oil and ghee on a medium flame and add cinnamon and cloves.

When cloves begin to crackle, add crushed ginger-garlic, green chilli and onion and let it sauté till the onion turns golden brown, this takes around 2 minutes.

Add the rice which is soaked and green peas.

Saute the entire mixture well and for 1-2 minutes.

Add 1-cup water and salt. Mix well and bring mixture to a boil.

When the contents of the pan boiling, reduce the flame to low and cover it with a lid.

Now let it get cooked for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, turn off the flame and let it stand for some time.

Remove the lid and fluff the rice grains with a fork.

The Peas Pulao is ready to be consumed and can be garnished with mint at the top.
