India is one of the major exporters of Basmati rice to the world.

Being one of the largest producers of Basmati rice, India produces nearly 7.5 million tons and exports approximately 2.5 million tons.

Basmati rice is grown in India on the foothills of the Himalayas.

The neighbouring country of Pakistan also produces basmati rice, but as compared to India, the production is less.
