India is one of the major exporters of Basmati rice to the world.

Being one of the largest producers of Basmati rice, India produces nearly 7.5 million tons and exports approximately 2.5 million tons.

Basmati rice is grown in India on the foothills of the Himalayas.

The neighbouring country of Pakistan also produces basmati rice, but as compared to India, the production is less.

There are many Indian brands which have flourished in the Basmati Rice Industry. Being one of the major rice producers, the world over Basmati rice is exported. Some countries in the world now have started allotting hectares of land for production of rice, like Phillipines.

Indian rice industry has many competitors like Lal Qilla, Kohinoor, Blue Diamond.
